In a shocking decision last week, the Pentagon awarded Microsoft the contract for the Joint Enterprise Defense Intrastructure (JEDI) project. This shocking announcement caused the Microsoft’s stock to jump about 3.5%. The original front-funner to win the huge military contract was Amazon due to its Amazon Web Services division being the market leader for cloud computing.
Unable to accept the results of the government’s decision, Amazon may decide to challege the results in hopes of winning back the contract. While Microsoft has been seen gloating how its going to “Make the Government Great Again,” Amazon is starting a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #notmycloudservice.
Authorities familiar with Amazon’s thinking say that they will start a hunt for foul play in the decision-making process in hopes of overturning the government’s decision. May the Force be with them.
